While news of Voldemort’s alleged return make waves in the wizarding world, things are also heating up in the hallowed halls of Hogwarts: the illegal hallucinogen Moldy has been discovered in the Weasley household, Umbridge has clamped down on Moldy use at Hogwarts, and whispers of “gyatt” (yes, you read that right) now haunt the school, hinting at the Golden Trio’s return.
Draco, whose investigation into Moldy had been previously sabotaged, pointed to his enemy Harry as the culprit, and urged all delegates to facilitate his investigation: painful memories are also recalled, as he laments Harry’s reluctance to be his friend back in their first year (“You rejected me!”). A series of pertinent questions also permeated the discussion (is weed legal now? Is Umbridge a karen?), while delegates including Kreacher, Ginny and Molly Weaseley continued to deny any involvement in the drug bust. Molly, notably, pointed to the possibility of death eaters planting Moldy in her room to thin the opposition to Voldemort’s return.
Attention on “Gyatt” was renewed by Umbridge’s ominous speech, in which she declared that “anyone that says Gyatt will die”; however, the tables were turned when Cornelius Fudge, met with thunderous applause, made the decision to cast a reversing spell, banning Umbridge from saying the word ever again. Hermione, dressed in stylish Gryffindor robes, then refuted any claims that she is associated with “Gyatt”, alleging that it is just an acronym for “Global Youth Appreciation to Tea” in honor of Umbridge’s love for the beverage.
All eyes turned to Voldemort as the feared dark lord spoke on the ongoing controversy. Linking protein powder (which had been smuggled into Hogwarts) and Moldy to muggle inventions, he warned the council of the danger of muggles, and the need to erase them. Harry Potter followed up with a speech condemning Voldemort’s return, and defending the Weaseleys’ honor.
In a turn of events, a round of explosive updates are delivered before the session break: Bellatrix has escaped Azkaban (a collective “NOOO!” follows), and has along with other death eaters become addicted to Moldy; the Weaseleys are taken to court for their crimes, but may be exonerated as Kreacher is spotted hauling a cauldron of Moldy. At Hogwarts, Harry is suspected of sabotaging Draco’s moldy investigation, and both Draco and Umbridge are demoted to become guards of the Hogwarts borders. Draco has also stolen the Ring Horcrux from the Gaunt House, potentially to resurrect the death eater (and Sirius’ brother) Regulus Black.
Bellatrix Lestrange, supported by Voldemort, asked the council for assistance in finding a cure to her addiction, but such pleas were overshadowed by Molly’s allegations of a failed love confession to Harry that prompted Draco’s rage (Drarry?!). Debate further escalated when Umbridge, angrily, proposed to replace Fudge as minister of magic and challenged him to a duel (denied by Fudge, to the dismay of the council).
Time begins to run out, and the council must address Harry and Molly’s alleged crimes. After intense voting, the verdict emerged clear: both Harry and Molly are declared… not guilty! Although sighs of relief can be heard, and debate is adjourned for the day, tensions continue to run high: FC day 2 will reveal the fate of the wizarding world.
